The transport of live fish is a critical component of any fish aquaculture operation. Over the past decades the team of researchers in the UM Aquaculture Program have developed life support systems and protocols for the successful transport of a variety of marine fish species ranging in size from embryo stage to mature adults. Research in this area continues at UM, with the goal of continuing to improve the life fish transport process and developing new techniques to improve the economical and logistical efficiencies of this process.
